Renesas Electronics Brings Multiple AI, IoT and Smart Mobility Solutions to the 2020 Munich Shanghai Electronics Show

Renesas Electronics China will bring a variety of solutions for artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and smart mobility to the 2020 Munich Shanghai Electronics Show “e-Planet Innovation and Application Technology Park”. The exhibition will be held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Qingpu, Shanghai from July 3 to 5, 2020. IoT and AI

· Moving object tracking

The solution uses a Renesas RZ/A2M microprocessor (MPU) with DRP (Dynamic Configurable Processor) technology and only one camera for image acquisition, control and vision processing. The control signal drives the motion of the robotic arm to realize object recognition, tracking and precise grasping.

RZ/A2M with DRP and e-AI (Embedded Artificial Intelligence) has higher speed and better power efficiency than other machine vision and image recognition solutions. It only takes 2.5 milliseconds (400MHz) from image acquisition to AI inference, and the power consumption is as low as 0.6W (A2M only) and 2.3W (with A2M control board). The e-AI technology can transplant AI models into microcontrollers (MCUs), and complete AI inferences locally without the need for the cloud, which greatly improves the efficiency and stability of inferences.

· Perception is everywhere

This all-in-one perception solution showcases a wide range of IoT-related applications with Renesas multi-sensor boards and cloud-connected systems. On-board sensors include ToF sensors, pulse oximetry biosensors, brightness sensors, RGB visible light sensors, gas sensors (indoor air quality, outdoor air quality and odor), and temperature and humidity sensors. At the same time, we can provide all the information of the reference design to support rapid productization.

Smart travel

· Automotive analog HD video link

The Automotive Analog High Definition Video Link (AHL) uses the existing low-cost cable and connector architecture to transmit video from the camera module to the ECU R-Car V3H SoC while upscaling the picture quality to HD resolutions. AHL is suitable for long-distance cables and multiple connector architectures, and can be used in parking assist systems, including 360-degree surround view and rear cameras.

· Smart Cockpit

The intelligent cockpit solution integrates functions such as full LCD virtual instrumentation, entertainment and air conditioning settings, forward view and multimedia playback, and ADAS image recognition. The solution uses a single-chip R-Car H3 SoC and a multi-output automotive-grade VersaClock™ clock IC 5P49V60, which can drive three screen displays simultaneously.

· Battery management reference solution

The ISL78714 Li-Ion battery management IC combined with the RH850/P1M microcontroller implements an ASIL-D cell balancing reference design that provides longer, more accurately measured battery life and extensive system diagnostics to protect 14-cell Li-Ion battery packs . This solution maximizes the driving time and range of hybrid and electric vehicles, including HEV/MHEV/PHEV and BEV.
