In recent years, under the influence of the large-scale popularization of new energy vehicles and strong policy support, the number of vehicle charging piles has been greatly increased. As an emerging infrastructure, car charging piles play an important role in the charging, battery life, energy saving and environmental protection of new energy vehicles.In order to promote the development of new energy charging, Dalian Dayoushang has launched a 15KW three-phase bidirectional charging pile power supply scheme with STM32G474RET6 as the control chip based on the three-phase Vienna architecture. This scheme can simultaneously realize AC/DC and DC/AC bidirectional Conversion, DC voltage is 800Vdc, AC voltage is 400Vac@50Hz, power can reach 15KW, conversion efficiency

On July 20, 2021, Dalian General Holdings, a leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary Youshang has launched a 15KW three-phase bidirectional charging pile power supply solution based on STMicroelectronics (ST) STM32G474RET6.

In recent years, under the influence of the large-scale popularization of new energy vehicles and strong policy support, the number of vehicle charging piles has been greatly increased. As an emerging infrastructure, car charging piles play an important role in the charging, battery life, energy saving and environmental protection of new energy vehicles. In order to promote the development of new energy charging, Dalian Dayoushang has launched a 15KW three-phase bidirectional charging pile power supply scheme with STM32G474RET6 as the control chip based on the three-phase Vienna architecture. This scheme can simultaneously realize AC/DC and DC/AC bidirectional Conversion, the DC voltage is 800Vdc, the AC voltage is 400Vac@50Hz, the power can reach 15KW, the conversion efficiency is as high as 99%, and it can use soft start, which can effectively suppress the inrush current.

ST STM32G474RET6 is ST’s new generation of digital power control chip. It adopts Arm Cortex-M4 core and has a main frequency of up to 170MHz. It supports floating-point operations, math accelerators and high-precision timers. The timer can send 12 channels of PWM arbitrary waves at the same time. Up to 184ps, at the same time the chip integrates 4 OPs, multi-channel UART, I2C, DAC control, can realize real-time overcurrent and overvoltage protection.

In order to make users better familiar with the control chip and build the basic architecture of digital power supply, ST also provides the B-G474E-DPOW1 development board, which is based on the STM32G474RET6 design and provides USB3.0, Type-C interface, comprehensive software The Hal library and various software examples can help users accelerate the design of digital power prototyping applications.

Core technical advantages:

• Three-phase Vienna, which can realize AC/DC DC/AC dual-phase inverter, mainly used for pre-stage applications such as high-power charging piles;
• ST’s new generation digital power control chip STM32G474, realizes pure digital control and flexible configuration;
• Small solution size, frequency up to 100KHz;
• The control chip can output 12 channels of high-precision PWM, and the frequency can be configured with 2-3 level topology.
