According to foreign media reports, on January 8, local time, a Boeing 737 of Ukraine International Airlines crashed near the airport due to a “technical problem” two minutes after taking off from Tehran Khomeini International Airport in Iran, killing a total of 176 people. Killed, including 167 passengers and nine crew members.
In response, the Ukrainian embassy in Iran said the incident was caused by an engine failure and was not a terrorist attack.
